Yes, I have learned a wonderful habit! Sitting with my Bible, my Cup of Fancy(Lemon Zinger Hot Tea, along with a lemon/blueberry scone) and spending precious time with you.
Just as any habit needs to be learned, one really has to put a lot of effort into it.
Growing up in the 50’s 60’s era, getting a good education and having great work ethic, were instilled in me by my parents. My father was a brilliant man, that only allowed himself a tenth grade education. It was The Great Depression and he dropped out to work. He valued education, and encouraged all of us to get a college degree.
My sister, Gail Ph.D. Nursing Professor, led the way as my role model. I earned my M.Ed. And taught for 30 years.
Success comes to those who work hard.
Losing Weight; now that’s a subject I don’t wish to discuss. At 73, there’s been a plethora of genres I’ve tried, as have many other women.
I need to get back to the gym, watch my intake, follow a keto program, and drink lots of water. If I get in the habit, I will be successful.
However, The greatest habit that I ever undertook, was for my mental health. Keeping my mind and thoughts turned to the positive, was something God taught me,45 years ago. I had to diligently train my mind to see my cup as half full.
Seeking Him through Holy Scripture; writing it on index cards and keeping Gods Word at your fingertips is a phenomenal way to keep a positive mind.
I had to get into the habit of speaking to things, as did Jesus and the apostles. Look at the following examples,
Mark 11:22-24 I speak to every mountain of discouragement, stress, depression, and lack, and I say,”Be cast into the sea in Jesus’ name.” I say to this day,”You are blessed.” I declare that I serve a Mighty God who today will do exceedingly and abundantly beyond all that I can ask or think.
Psalm 91 All attacks that were headed my way are diverted right now through angelic protection in the name of Jesus.
Romans 4:17-23 As Abraham did, I speak promises over my life so that my faith is strengthened to possess all of God’s Promises.
ABBA, I praise You for your Holy Word, that became alive to me 43 years ago. I am a new creation.
Thank You, Father, for blessing me this day.
Col 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all of your heart, as working for the Lord. Not for men.
Psalm 16:11 You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Psalm 86:12 I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify your name forevermore.
