This particular holiday is one which allows us to reminisce, reflect, remember, and rejuvenate! This year I spent only my second holiday with in-laws their or home! I know, you are asking how is that possible?!
Let me clear the confusion. My first husband’s parents retired to Florida just before we met; I spent one Christmas with them there, and every other year my holidays have been in my home or my parents or siblings homes. I must say, I truly enjoyed spending this Thanksgiving holiday with my second husband’s extended family! What a joyous time to reflect on family, love, life, joy, friendship and the blessings God bestows.
Not everyone can say that. Some people have memories that don’t bring joy and for those individuals I feel badly. Sadness can settle in like cold rain; soaking us to our core and making us miserable! I pray that if your life is burdened by this heavy emotion, take time to find someone to speak with. God has sunshine and He’s ready and willing to spread it liberally to all who ask.
Dear God, walk with every hurting individual today. Help me to reflect on your love language! In Jesus precious name, amen.
