God..Strength…Wisdom…Grace Words to keep etched within my being. Those three words after God are powerful! Those are given to us by Him and we realize it during winter months. Snow is cold, wet, and humbling. Why? Because it can be beautiful as it blankets the world. Neighborhoods become quiet and hushed-especially at night during snowfall. There is such a calm beauty everywhere. Then, during the morning rush hour, oh how humbling! Snow wreaks havoc on roadways and the same streets that were just ‘beautiful’ are now messy and sometimes problematic! Accidents occur…
Ephesians 5:10 “and find out what pleases the Lord” Tonight, I picked up my phone and wondered what I was supposed to post about. Immediately, Ephesians 5:10 popped into my brain. I had to look the verse up; I had no idea what it was! Clearly, God wants me to pursue this one! I am again coming to a crossroads and I must turn to, and rely heavily upon, the Father for guidance. In that moment I realized how impatient I am! Not that God won’t take care of things, but that it isn…
God has given me so many riches, but not in the form of money, wealth or objects. Instead, he has given riches in people! I have so many in my life! Acquaintances, co-workers, employees, employers, friends and family. Along with all of these riches comes opportunity! Opportunity to live, laugh, Love, argue, fight, curse, and cry! Because the opportunity arises for these things we quickly learn that forgiveness must be part of our everyday life! Without it, bitterness sets in and replaces love and joy with anger and scars soon block our hearts ability to beat properly. When God…
Recently, my family I work for was preparing for the grandparents to visit. They cleaned the guest space, put away extra stuff, sorted old papers, got out the guest towels, pillows, etc. I noticed that there was a current running throughout; we have to get this done, it has to look nice, we have to impress! Isn’t that what each of us does at times, we “dress to impress”. We put on our smiles, we take a deep breath, and we make those around us feel we are calm, cool and collected. Inside….whole different…
With God all things are possible… Today, this very morning, is a new beginning-again. New beginnings will usually bring pain, tears, fear, and eventually some joy. Today, Lord, I give this day to you. It is all about you and I am not the focus. When people look at me, I pray they see Jesus! Walk with me, speak through me, and love as only you would love! Amen Sandra Sanders boundless trust…
I CAN do all things through Christ… I know you’ve read that from me before. I am in a slump right now; emotionally, physically, but especially spiritually! I feel drained, totally empty, and without the “gumption” to fill back up. I was off my ‘nut’ medicine for a few days and that hasnt helped, but I feel lost and without purpose. I know God has this, I never doubt that, but my body is tired and in pain much of the time. I am getting older but seriously?! 55 shouldn’t mean…
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me… What does strength look like to you? What about courage? How about the flipside-failure. Does it have a face? This week I faced all of those in my week….and it’s only Tuesday!! Many years ago I was given an opportunity and I thought, at the time, that it was the perfect solution for me and the answer to my tomorrow! Turned out, God had something else entirely different for my future. I was heartbroken and devastated at the time it first fell apart, but…
For unto us is born this day, in the city of David, a saviour, who is Christ the Lord….. What does God look like? The bible teaches us that man was created in His image. The bible also teaches us that Jesus is God. So obviously, He looks like His Father! I challenge you to think past that; look at a newborn baby, a homeless person, an abused child, a victim of abuse, a victim of war, and so on. These are all faces of God! We like to think of Him in beautiful things, but He is in…
wedding in 1948 Mother. Mom. Mommy. Mama. She will go by many names and for many she is a beloved figure in their lives. For me, she was my best friend and anchor, and I lost her, in this world, 20 years ago! My mama passed to heaven on July 31st, 1998. I have gone 20 years without seeing her smile, hearing her voice laugh, chat, and even scold at times. There is nothing in this world, to me at least, like the love of a mother. Except the love of the Father above! A mother carries her child within…
When a person is happy, you might hear them humming, singing, or even belting out a tune! What happens if a person is sad or depressed? You might hear songs then, too. Oftentimes, if I’m worried or preoccupied, I will hum. Twenty years ago, my mother passed away and I didn’t realize until weeks later that I had begun humming hymns several weeks before she passed. Then, when my father died I did the same thing and several months after that, my first husband died and I again went through the humming and even singing while…
twinkle, twinkle little star how I wonder what you are… A children’s rhyme that is very popular with girls, boys, young and even older. Today, I was watching a sweet little girl and we were reading a book for bedtime; it was about a person drawing a star. As I read I realized the 5 point star we are taught to draw clearly resembles a person. Also, the star in the sky, could that be Jesus watching out over all of his ‘children’ both young and old? We must remember that Christ is human, at…
The sunset brings rest before the dawn Beloved, let us love one another 1 John 4:7 Life is full of many joys, laughter, and humor. But, and there is always one of those, it has pain and sadness with it too. God gives us all things for our good, and while we cannot always understand the pain of the moment, we can usually look back on it later and see why God allowed such hurt and suffering. Recently, I received a wonderful reconciliation with a family member. I have been overjoyed to see this beloved person again, but I…
When a person begins new things, they often meet it with one of two things: fire or fear. The fire is the excitement and drive to meet challenges head on and the fear is that we aren’t going to do well. Currently, I am beginning new challenges and I have a fire to tackle them, which is good, except when I feel I’m not being heard or appreciated. Usually, though, it’s my own ego standing in the way. Can you imagine people who move to new states or even countries? They might have the…
I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Phillipians 4:13 Life is full of many ups and downs and sometimes it weighs us down. When we have the world’s weight on our shoulders we often cry out to God to provide answers, but we usually have to remain still and wait for him to whisper the answers instead of a loud trumpet blast! Thank you father God for taking care of all my needs and not just what I believe to be important! Walk with all who may read these words, in Jesus precious…
