THE GIFT OF WISDOM

As previously revealed, My Granny and mother both had “The Gift of God’s Wisdom.” Oh, you bet they were human, and had their faults; however, they were wise in the spirit.

For years, as I rebuilt my life, I prayed for the Gift of Wisdom. The summer of 2000, I began boldly to digest Psalms and Proverbs. I’d sit on my big country porch and read, study, write, and respond.

A rather comical incident occurred, once I began my inhalation of The Word. In my dreams, I kept hearing and seeing the words, ”tree of life.” This same dream reoccurred about five times.

After relaying this incident to Gracie I said, “You know, Girlfriend, Tree of Life is a book company. You know that God said to me in Habakkuk, ’write down the revelation so that a herald may run with it?’ Perhaps I should call the Tree of Life Publishing company and ask to speak to Harold… you get it herald may run with it? Maybe they could publish what I write? LOL! OK…

guess you just have to have our weird sense of humor.”

About a month later, I was very deep into Proverbs. I was rereading a passage about the Gift of Wisdom. I was enthralled with the following scripture. Proverbs 3:13-18 Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and her paths are peace. SHE IS A TREE OF LIFE to those her embrace her; those who lay hold of her will be blessed.

I was like….”Wow, Lord! Are you trying to tell me something?” I became very quiet. In my spirit He spoke. “Since you are seeking me like the woman with the issue of blood…which I requested earlier…. I have a special gift for you. Close your eyes. Now as you open them, lift your eyes and receive my special gift to you.”

I had been doing my devotions on our huge country porch. I thought, ”What on earth could He possibly be considering?

As I opened my eyes, there stood our four hundred year old Burr Oak Tree. My symbol…my tree of life.

That night I accepted His gift….The Gift of Wisdom.
