I have done this 2 different ways:
#1 Buy ready made pie crusts.
Use a nice size casserole dish that will feed your family. Spray casserole dish with PAM.
Place a ready made pie crust on the bottom.
Peel and slice apples…fill the casserole.
On the stove : 2 cups of sugar, 1 cup of butter..add water to make a desired syrup. Add cinnamon. I just dump in desired amount. You can add some brown sugar if desired. You want to make enough syrup to cover the apples. Don’t pour it over apples till topping is on.
TOPPING
Use another pie crust for topping. Cut slits in the top crust and pour over the syrup. Bake at 350 for 30-45 mins. You decide. When crust is brown and apples are bubbling..it’s done.
#2 Prepare casserole, apples and syrup. NO CRUST BOTTOM:PLACE APPLES IN CASSEROLE. Take 2 to 3 cups of bisquick. Add milk and 1 or 2 eggs to desired consistency. Place atop the apples by spoonfulls. Spread it out a bit. Then pour the syrup over it. Follow same baking instructions.
We usually eat this when its warm, and pour milk over it.
YUM!!!
Bon Appetite
