If it’s going to be…it’s up to me! -Sue’s Granny

_      From 1999-2004 I worked for The Communicate Institute. During the summers, I taught seminars to teachers earning credit hours through Walsh College.  I taught the course entitled “Effective Instruction,” which was based on the philosophy of Harry Wong.  The course was all about how to structure your classroom and delete behavior issues.

I not only learned how to restructure my classroom, but also realized that I had become a true professional.

In 1998, I took 3 courses from the company in order to receive my Masters Degree plus 15.hrs. For 2 of the courses, I had the same instructor.

The course was designed in the following manner:

  *A topic was introduced

* A video was viewed

*An activity was given

*Table discussion with appointed discussion leader and recorder.

*I was the designated leader quite often.

At the end of the 3 courses, the instructor asked if she could see me after class. “What have I done wrong now? I feel as if the nuns are after me again!” LOL!

The instructor informed me that she was writing a new course for the company. Then she asked if I would be interested in becoming an instructor.

To say that, ”I was overwhelmed,” doesn’t even come close! “Who me? I finally came to the realization that I was at the top of my game.

The following is the account of my educational background:

YES, I WORKED MY TAIL OFF!

I retired June of 2014. I realized that one of Granny’s favorite quotes had come to fruition,” If you want to receive…you must achieve.

The way in which we raised our sons…. “Failure is not and option.” I’ll never forget my son’s response, as I told him about a former friend.

At the time, our eldest son was on a football scholarship at The Univ. of Dayton. I had attended a wedding of a former high school friend, who settled for less. When I described his situation, my son answered,  “Of course, Mom. What did you expect? He wasn’t raised with the positive expectation with which we were raised!”

My jaw dropped!  We worked so hard at raising our kids. To come to the realization that we did a good job, was a gift from God!

The man I married is a fireball for success. Often a workaholic, he needed to succeed. We sacrificed a lot to build a farm, and raise 3 kids.

Occasionally, I ‘ll watch Dr. Phil in the afternoon. To see all of that dysfunction makes me very empathetic. Even though my father suffered from a mental illness, he was loving, had a great work ethic, was a depression era kid, and he was a goal setter.  He was the one who encouraged all of us to get our college degrees.

My favorite quote of Dr. Phil… “The difference between you and a successful person…..YOU SETTLED FOR LESS!”  Unfortunately, my sister who passed in’71 due to making a poor decision, settled for much less.  It’s even quite painful to recall the entire dysfunctional situation.

When I say this to you, it’s meant for encouragement…not condemnation. Good Lord, we all fall short of the glory of God! OK! So you’ve made some really poor choices in your life. God can help you out of the following situations and lead you on a bright path.  My eldest sister and myself, even though we had huge struggles in our lives, settled for more:

SO IF THIS IS YOUR SITUATION…

*You’ve had an abortion or child out of wedlock.

*You’ve had multiple children by different men.

*You’re on free money/welfare.

*You’re suffering from depression.

* You are having suicidal thoughts.

STOP….GOD LOVES YOU AND WANTS TO USE YOU POWERFULLY!! There are people out there who can lead you in the right direction. There is help for you. Go for it. ! I challenge you!  One small step can change your life. Are you afraid to take the step?  I SURELY WAS!…AND IT CHANGED MY LIFE FOR THE POSITIVE!

God will give you the courage, as He did me.

You may feel that your life is in broken pieces. The POTTER can rebuild your life, the way He wants it to be!

Here’s the only condition. You have to want to change and become a better person. Become a mentally, physically, and spiritually healthy person. YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE FIRST STEP!

THERE IS HELP FOR YOU! Love yourself enough to settle for more.  You are worth it. Go for counseling. Go to school for 2 years and get an associates degree. You can be a Vet Tech, Health Care Assistant, or work as a Secretary.

“You can do all things through Christ who gives you the strength.”

Love yourself enough to know that you are worth it, merely…BECAUSE GOD LOVES YOU AND HE WILL HELP YOU!

“Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all of these things will be added unto you.

May God open your heart to His Dive Plan for your life.

Love,

Granny…Fearless Faith
