Recently, I sold a piece of furniture. It was a very large dining table and 6 chairs. This set was one that my first husband and I had purchased. Actually, we had put it together over a number of years. We purchased the solid wood top on clearance because the store didn’t have the pedestal. After several years, we had an Amish furniture company make the pedestals for it. Then, several years after, we had the chairs made.
Now, some of you are going to ask why we took so long. Well you see, these were expensive items. The pedestals and chairs were custom made. We took our time and really got quality. Now you wonder why I sold them. Well, my first husband passed away and the home I’m in now doesn’t have a dining room. This large set really doesn’t fit with the house or lifestyle. So, I listed them. Then I waited for them to sell. I waited and waited! Finally someone was interested. When they came to pick up she shared it was a Christmas gift for her sister. Her sister’s table broke and she and 5 kids were trying to sit around a broken table to eat. God had a plan and I had to wait for its completion. I was glad it was a family who would use this set. I pray these children sit and enjoy many meals and family moments as they grow up. I pray, too, that this mother has all she needs to provide for these precious children. God takes broken things and makes them whole.
I had to wait for God’s timing, not my own. My timing is never perfect. But with God, all things are possible -and perfect.
To Him be the glory, amen. The lord is good and in His precious name I pray.
