LIVE WITH A PASSIONATE PALETTE

SPOTLIGHT#2

LOVE, LIVE, LAUGH, LEARN, AND LEAVE A LEGACY

The two women that made a huge difference in my life were Mama Ruthie and Granny Edith. They taught me the following:

Psalm 34: 8 Taste and see the goodness of the Lord. Blessed is he who takes refuge in Him.

So many people just go through the motions of everyday life. Many people never truly live.

In my youth, I lived on a 15 acre, country abode, north of Montgomery, near what is now King’s Island.

In the 50’s-60’s, long before technology, families got together and partied. All of my great social skills were engineered through family gatherings.

From being around a vast number of people and experiences, I truly learned how to live.

As the above scripture begins with the word “Taste,” my German ancestry left nothing undone. At our family picnics we not only had the beer, brats, burgers, potato salad, and baked beans, we also had Limburger cheese with onions and mustard on Schwartz Brot (Black Rye Bread)

Truly living is about having a big appetite.

Good Lord, at our summer festivities we did the following: ate, drank, danced, sang to a player piano, played cards, softball, ping pong, pool, bad mitten, croquett….. you name it.

Whenever I was in a group, I was a leader, and had a great deal of confidence. WE worked hard and played hard.

HEAVENLY FATHER: Please remove the scabs from the eyes of those who think, “They can’t.” Guide them in the way of your light and life.  Help them to see that with God, all things are possible.
