If No One Knew For Sure If They Were
Heaven Bound.

Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Eph. 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God.

I attend a Catholic Bible Study at my church. The title of it is KEEPING IN BALANCE. It’s all about the expectations the world places upon us, as well as the ones we place upon ourselves.
Just as I attended nondenominational Bible Studies previously, we have some non-Catholics attending our sessions as well.
My Jesus has no denomination. There you have it.
As I was growing up during 12 years of Catholic Education, There was a huge emphasis on the word,”IF.”
Christ died for me and paid for my sins.

However, I could lose my salvation if:

I missed mass on Sunday.
I failed to go to confession.
I failed to obey the 10 Commandments
I sinned in any way, shape, or form in my youth with drinking, dating, etc.
Everything was a sin!
So, when I was in college, I was pissed with all of their rules and regulations! I couldn’t fit the bill. In my mind, He was this white haired old man, who was ready to zap me with a cattle prod.
Praise God for my Mother. The Holy Spirit thought for her. I’ll never forget her comment. We were walking through the park one eve, near Easter. Discussing spirituality, Catholic Rules (in the ‘60’s). Her comment: ”Our Jesus has no denomination. Also, remember this when in doubt. When Jesus cried out on the cross, ‘It is finished!’ He meant it. He paid our price in full.”
It wasn’t until I was 50 years old, that I truly got it! Read Romans. My faith took on an entire new genre. It was called, ”GRACE.” I neither had to earn anything, nor jump through hoops.

HEAVENLY FATHER:

Thanking you for loving me despite my faults. Thank you for holding me by the hand, and guiding me to the light. May I touch the lives of others in Your Holy Name. Amen
