The above colors would work beautifully on a Christmas Card Painting. The blues and whites as The Star of Bethlehem resides over a Nativity Scene, could make a beautiful painting.
Such peace…such warmth; I’m sipping my Cup of Fancy (Cinnamon Hot Tea with some pumpkin Christmas Cookies)…not so great for the diet…but oh so good for the soul.
I’m taking a moment this morning to focus on “GRACE”. Growing up in the legalism in which I was raised, in the 50-60 era, I never knew the true meaning of Grace. My attitude of God was that He was some Dude with a cattle prod out to get me; I had to earn his love.
My mom was anointed as a Catholic. We listened to Billy Graham constantly. One summer eve, as we walked across the street to the lake, we always talked about spiritual subjects.
Her phrase that began the wheels turning in my mind was the following: “Baby, never forget that Jesus paid the full price for our sin, one stormy Friday, and rose three days later.”
She was very instrumental in showing me and my siblings the love of Jesus.
It wasn’t until I was 50 years old, that I stopped fearing a place called “Purgatory,” and truly understood the meaning of GRACE.
My Dear friend Gracie, who was raised strictly Mennonite, was on the same plane as I; raised in legalism.
Our spiritual journey together, in my book
THE ERSTWHILE ACORN, reveals how building a relationship with Jesus Christ, WASHES YOU WITH HIS GRACE! If the Holy Spirit indwells you, you are a forgiven child of God.
This was a totally different mind frame, in which the two of us were raised.
Once I realized that “His Grace was sufficient for me,” my fear dispersed. I began to claim my power within the kingdom of God, as a Daughter of The King, and an heir to heaven.
Once you have that deep relationship with him, and inhale His Love For You, your life will take a 180.
Listen to the story of my favorite Afro-American Minister, Lorenzo Sewell, who is a pastor in Detroit. His testimony is incredible.
He was transformed from “Gang Mentality To God Mentality.”
Father, I praise You for pouring your GRACE upon me. I am yours.
2 Corinthians 12:9 And He said to me, “My Grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
James 1:2-3 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
Psalm 119:5 Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light for my path.
