The last few days, have been very hazy and humid. It’s almost as if the farm as been glazed in a mist. There’s no breeze to blow this mess of haze out of our area, for a few days. Nothing can be seen clearly. However, the sun is trying to break through.
As I sip my Cup Of Fancy (an Arnold Palmer..iced tea and lemonade mix..tons of ice) this haze brings to mind the following:
Sin clouds our relationship with God. Sometimes we think past sin is unforgivable. Just remember, Jesus hung out with a former prostitute, a tax collector, and men who were surreptitious characters; and he loved them unconditionally. Their former pasts meant nothing to Him. Remember, God usually uses the weak to do His bidding:
I ask myself.”How can I feel free of the guilt, that my childhood denomination repeatedly placed upon me?” If I forgot to confess a sin…good luck with that! Jer. 31:3/John 3:16/ Romans 5:8 all state that I am loved unconditionally.
The Book of Romans 8:1 literally saved me. It revealed to me that my FAITH ALONE deems me as a Righteous Child of God. No more guilt. I am free through the Blood of Christ, by His Grace. I am loved unconditionally. I am never condemned.
ABBA, You have searched my heart. You know the yearnings within my heart, and the reason those sins were committed. No excuses. However, due to your unconditional love, You now own me. I am sealed with The Holy Spirit.
There is an anonymous parable that I heard on the radio. A priest went to visit a woman who had dreams, where she actually spoke with God. He asked her,”The next time you visit with God in your dreams, ask Him, what was the most serious sin that I ever committed?” On his next visit the woman acquiesced, and told him that she had spoken to God recently, and asked his question. Excitedly the priest cried out,”What was his answer?” The woman replied,….”HE SAID HE DIDN’T REMEMBER!”
That’s so like our God;…. as far as the east is from the west…He remembers our sin no more.
All of us have regrets. That’s human nature.
One of he most amazing scriptures that clutched my heart is the following: Romans 10:13 “He who calls upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.”
To acquire God’s unconditional love, is merely to claim Him as your Lord and savior; it’s simple.
Can you imagine how many deathbed conversions, have been acclaimed throughout the centuries?
We all remember the trauma of watching September 11th, unfold before our eyes. I’ll never forget the eye witnesses on the street, yelling to those jumping to their deaths:”Call out the Name of Jesus!”
Simply calling out the Name of Jesus, is a claim for eternal life. It is an acquisition of God’s Grace, that has covered all of our sins. That my friend, is unconditional love.
No religion or rules can get you to heaven. It is only a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
As you figured out by now, I was raised within the limits of strict religious rules within the 50’s-60’s era. BAH! HUMBUG!
In watching THE CHOSEN….. one of the metaphors of building a relationship with Jesus Christ, and living within His freedom of GRACE, is the following: “Get used to different.”
ABBA…praise You for the sacrifice of your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank you for freedom and Grace, that covers all of my sins.
Thank You, for blessing me this day.
Psalm 139:1-4 O Lord, You have searched me and You know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; You perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.
2 Cor 1:21-22 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and placed His Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
Joshua 1:5 “No one will be able to stand up against you, all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
