As I sip a strong Cup of Fancy (Highland Grogg….Decaf…..heavy cream..), It brings to mind the Scottish Warriors in one of my favorite TV Series-Outlander. They were fearless patriots, whose faith in God and love of family, caress their ancestors to this day.
We are called to put on our full armor of God. However, when the death of a loved one, a serious illness, or trauma pervades the emotions of a family, it’s hard not to fall apart.
How many times within my 73 years have I cried out,”ABBA! I can’t do this anymore!” “This grief is more than I can bear!” Yet with our Fearless Faith we go on. It is only You, Father, who carries me.
I live in a family of “MEN!” Need I say more? I LOVE THEM DEARLY….BUT WOMEN NEED OTHER WOMEN!! LOLOLOL! I lost my sister a year ago, and since my mother’s passing 30 years ago…… the two of us were on the phone, daily. I am the last surviving member of my immediate family.
This is where my Sisters in Christ ..The God Squad…. have stepped in; just as Jesus stands in the gap for us, they help to dress me in the armor of God. I am TRULY BLESSED.
The past two weeks were difficult with a family issue, we had been dealing with for two years. Two of my sisters took the entire week to be with me.
Ephesians 6:10-20 It proclaims that we fight against the powers of darkness in the heavenly realm. We are directed to do the following:
*Stand firm with the belt of truth buckled around your waist.
*Have the breastplate of righteousness in place.
*Have your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
*Take up the shield of faith, with which you can distinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one.
*Take the helmet of salvation.
*Take the sword of the Spirit, which is The Word of God.
*Finally, St. Paul prays that his words fearlessly make known the truth of the gospel.
I pray, ABBA, that whatever is going on in the lives of your beloved, your armor protects all of us.
Praise you, Father for your Holy Word. Thank You, ABBA, for blessing me this day.
Phil 4:19 And my God will meet all of your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Col..2:2-3 My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
2 Cor. So we fix our eyes on what is seen, but on what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
