On this cold, holiday morning, my Cup of Fancy is hot peppermint tea. I also love to suck on a candy cane, as I ingest my steaming delicacy. Yep, having taught Kindergarten for 30 years, I’m still a kid at heart.
Having watched “The Shepherd,” the prequel to the series “The Chosen,” one truly gets to view, the length to which a shepherd goes, in order to protect his flock.
A shepherd sleeps at the door of the pen to protect his sheep. He lays down his life for them, if necessary.
Just as you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, to lay down his life for the sins of man.
Knowing that you are always near, takes the angst within my thoughts, and dissolves them into cool nonexistent vapors. You control my thoughts and my actions. This is a supernatural process, in which I have a constant faith; yet my mortal mind can’t possibly comprehend.
When I am clueless which way to turn, you guide me gently with your rod and your staff.
I am blessed that I can hear your voice, clearly; because we have a relationship.
This is the season of gift giving. During this season, you can give he gift of volunteering: Working at a food bank, feeding the Homeless on Christmas Day, packing lunches for the needy, adopting a family for Christmas.
As Christmas is only four days away, help me prepare to welcome you within my heart. Live within me, ABBA, and never let me go. Thank you for blessing me this day.
Psalm 23: The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures. Beside restful waters he leads me. He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his namesake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me. Your rod and your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all of the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Jer. 31:10 Hear the word of the Lord, O nations; proclaim it in the distant coastlands. He who scattered Israel will gather them, and watch over his flock like a shepherd.
John 10:16 “I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them, also. They too shall listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.
