As I sit on my big country porch, sipping my Cup of Fancy, I am blessed, taking in the view of your creation.
The corn is growing tall, and glistening in the sunlight: bowing to You..the Alpha and Omega, as the wind caresses the leaves.
The smell of newly mowed hay is such an elixir, in the summer. My man is rolling hay across the road and farming continues, as usual.
With my puppies at my feet, I am blessed. I feel so unconditionally loved by you. However, I didn’t always feel this way.
Until I fully understood GRACE, I never knew if I was forgiven. I thought that I could lose my salvation, at any time. Threats of Purgatory etc. created nothing but fear and guilt. I was never good enough, no matter how hard I tried.
Even after I repented, and you had forgiven me, I found it hard to forgive myself, for the sins of my youth. The Jesus that I was raised with was very harsh and scary.
BUT GOD…But My Mighty God….I now sit upon your lap as your arms enfold me. The Book of Romans teaches me that I am righteous by my faith alone.
As I viewed the character of Jesus, in the series THE CHOSEN, I wept. Why? It was the first time in my life (now 72) that I viewed such a human, soft, loving, non- condemning Savior.
When he was tempted for 40 days, he understood and experienced all of our temptations. He gave his life willingly for our sins.
So the next time the evil one tries to recall past sins, remind the demon that your sin was taken to the cross. Submit your life to Christ: Let Go…and Let God!
Thank You father, for sending your Son, for our salvation.
