A CUP OF FANCY

Adding Color to a Black and White Life

A DAILY DEVOTIONAL BOOK COMING SOON!

Surrounding yourself with color effects your emotions, personality, values, and the way you perceive, think, and act. One needs to create an environment of color that makes you feel, happy, strong, worthy, and empowered by The Holy Spirit.

There was a great deal of color in my childhood home.

My Granny and my Mother were very colorful woman. Bright colors were always the regimen for my Mother’s wardrobe.

Red was her favorite color. She always spiked it with another shade, tint, or hue that would push it forward. She was a strong woman with a vibrant spirit.

Granny never left the house without her hat, gloves, jewelry and lipstick. It was the 50’s friends. She was a class act. She loved fine china, and always drank her coffee/tea from a fancy cup and teapot.

Not that she ever thought that she was better than anyone else. My Granny was FANCY IN THE HOLY SPIRIT. Her strength, courage, faith ,and worthiness, came from Him.

Little did I realize at the time, that She and my mom were inundating me with artistic ideas, and a deep Christian Faith. Their positivity and love of God, molded my character completely.

They were not puffy fluffy women, and full of themselves. We were not a wealthy family; however, Granny always said,”How you dress will give you a positive and colorful frame of mind.” They taught me the gifts of humility and service to others.

It is no surprise that I first became an Elementary Art Teacher/artist. I climbed the ladder of education after my children became of school age. I earned my Masters in Education, and Kindergarten was my realm for 26 years.

Upon retirement in 2014, God placed upon my heart vividly to begin to blog, author, and rekindle my artistic creativity.

In obedience to God’s direction, I began a blog in 2017. I learned a great deal in this process; however, I needed to create something for women that,”Would Knock Their Socks Off!”

Each morning as I did my devotions, I drank from my fancy cup and teapot. Granny’s words began to echo in my spirit. The Holy Spirit modified those words to His approval.

  • Women love to feel Fancy on occasion; dress up and eat off of fine china. It’s all about their spiritual growth. It allows them to feel that “They Have Arrived,” and are worthy of being loved.”
  • Then God spoke to my heart.”What better way is there to begin or end your day?” “Spend an hour a day with Me. “
  • The word,”Fancy” does not mean that you are a high society nut-job. LOL! In your spirit, you are drinking in color, love, worthiness, strength, rest, peace, serenity, the Fruits of The Holy Spirit, and a million other assets. You are building a colorful life in The Spirit, in comparison to the mundane life you once lived.”

In my book, each day you will be given the following:

  • Colors for the day – you can add these colors to your day through fashion or home decorating.
  • Value of Concentration – Your devotion for the day will be based on this Biblical Value.
  • Memory Verse – You will be given a scripturally based verse to memorize and repeat 100 times a day if need be—to get you through your daily stresses.

SO MY FRIENDS… I INVITE YOU TO WATCH THIS SPACE FOR INTERMITTENT SPRINKLINGS OF MY SOON TO ARRIVE NEW BOOK AND THEN ONCE IT IS PUBLISHED, TO DRINK “A CUP OF FANCY”, along with me daily.

You may not have time to do lenghty devotions before you run out the door in the morning. However, if you drink a “Cup of Fancy” before you leave, it will be The Holy Spirit assuring you, that you’ll be able to make it through the day. No matter your circumstances, He will never leave you nor forsake you. That is His promise.

Enjoy your fine china and believe that “You are Fancy in the eyes of the Lord.”
