1 Timothy 4:14-16 Do not neglect your gift, which was given to you through a prophetic message, when the body of elders laid their hands on you. Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine, closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
OK LORD…..I NEED TO GET SERIOUS!
My gifts are the following: reading, writing, speaking, teaching, art, people skills, teaching my faith through personal experiences.
Three times, by three different people, three different situations: the same scripture was spoken over me.
Habakkuk 1:5 Look at the nations and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your day that you would not believe, even if you were told.
Habakkuk 2:2-3 Write down the revelation so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and not delay.
What is the revelation that I am to write? I am writing a book for a non-profit; which in turn, has me inspired to write my own.
Nineteen years ago, during the summer, I taught for a company entitled The Communicate Institute. I was the seminar leader, for teachers earning their credit hours toward License Renewal.
As a teacher, I shared a lot of personal experiences with the adult teachers in my class. At the end of the week, I often got cards/gifts/mementos for touching the lives of those in attendance.
Here is one card that has been tucked in my Bible, within the Book of Habakkuk. It is dated 7/21/2000…
NEVER DOUBT…the path….YOU’VE CHOSEN
Sue,
Thank You for the “invitation” you gave me, to share a bit of your life. I was touched, lifted up, and felt renewed in your presence. Every time I see a butterfly, I will think of you. Remember, once a butterfly emerges from it’s
cocoon, it can never, ever return.
Keep flying, and smelling the roses along the way. I hope that you enjoy the thoughts of ”The Prophet,” as much as I do.
You HAVE A STORY TO TELL! I hope one day to hear you in person, ”Proclaim it from the rooftops!”
Peace and Joy,
Your Student Noreen
SO I NEED TO GET BUSY…writing the non-profit/writing my own book, and other titles that God has given me.
The old Sue from 50 years ago, would never have done the following:
*Got recertified and taught 30 years
*Earned my Masters in Education.
*Taught for Communicate Institute for 6 years.
*Began a blog and God knows what else.
BUT GOD…ORCHESTRATED ALL OF IT.
He placed the desire and instructions in my heart, and said, ”Fly Little Fearless Faith.”
Due to my childhood, if anyone tells me I can’t do something, my reaction: JUST WATCH ME FLY!
SO WHAT IS YOUR GIFT? Parenting and living a life of faith should be number one on the list. Be it touching lives through your profession,
working and volunteering at school, church, or in a charity/mission field, each one of you is blessed with specific gifts. However, whether you work
hard to achieve them, is a choice…..that you have to make. God will direct you….but you must put in the time and effort.
As you get older, God defines your gifts. Trust me, I prayed for His direction a great deal in my young, married life. Pray. Trust Him. Let go and let God.
HEAVENLY FATHER: Prayer spoken over me years ago anointed me to do this. I was also instructed, ”Not to worry about it, because God would make it happen.” You have orchestrated and fine- tuned my life, just the way you want it. I look forward to my next musical.
In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen
Sue Cutler
