God’s timing…not mine

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Phillipians 4:13

My favorite verse, crutch, handle, grab bar….whatever you want to call it. I lean on and rely on this verse very heavily!

Some of you know I grew up in a dysfunctional family; I never heard the words “I love you” come out of my parents-directed to me or each other! Not something said to my siblings, by my parents or each other. It is very peculiar and startling to hear them use this phrase toward me now. My oldest sister used those words at Christmas this year; I practically stumbled over the words when I responded back to her. As if I would be slapped for saying such a thing! Mind you, I’m 55; no one is going to slap me because I said “I love you”, but that eerie feeling ran up my spine anyway.

God can do all things, even bringing a family love, joy and peace after years of discontent! Healing and forgiveness are next on the list!

Dear God, provide strength and courage to continue the race; don’t allow my mind to play horrible tricks on me! Walk the path and nudge when I stray!
