Cows out!!! Sook calf!

Musings of a Moo Cow Wife!

John 10:4 When He has brought out all of His own, He goes ahead of them, and His sheep follow Him because they know His voice.
I WISH TO GOD IT HAD BEEN SHEEP!!!!
Yes, my husband can be the Good Shepherd. They do know his voice. I thought that I was done chasing cows….HOWEVER!!!!!
Once the dairy cows were sold in 2015, my husband began a small beef herd, so he’d have something to do once harvest is complete.
I could move dairy cows easily, because they’re used to being around people constantly. No big deal. So back in late April when the beef cattle got out of a fence, I went out to help. It’s just what farmwives do.
We called a neighbor to come and help. I thought that I was all in….until……. one…who thought that he was still a bull…. Backed me against the barn!
God forgive…expletives came out of my mouth! My husband told me to go around the corner into the barn. As I went around the corner, into the barn, bawling and cursing, Moo Cow Satan had me cornered. I went into survival mode. I turned, found a metal pipe and smashed him over the head.
The men got pitchforks and handled him. I went in the house.
When my man walked in, I began bawling again, “I’M DONE! You get your men farmers to help you! I’ll be darned if I’m gonna be killed by a flippin cow!”
Well…2 days later…he called me out again. This time Farmer Thomas says, ”Call John, Ronnie, Tony, and the neighbors! They’re nowhere in sight!”
Once the men arrived, they were getting ready to start back the lane. I turned and screamed, ”Praise God! They’re all across the road in one herd, in the field!”
Just as the Good Shepherd, my Farmer brings his bucket of feed, starts banging the buckets together screaming,”Sook-Calf!”
The ants go marching one by one! Hurrah! Hurrah! They followed him. They knew his voice, while I hid behind the tree in safety. LOL! Not to mention, that the men surrounded the barn lot with pitchforks, just in case.
WOW! Even though it wasn’t fun, the situation spoke volumes to me. We are the unruly herd. Yep! There are times that we choose to run from Christ. However, once we hear His voice, we are eager to return to His loving care.
YES..JOY BEHAR..of “The View,” Maybe you should try hearing His voice. You wouldn’t be an abominable, snowflake, liberal, who tries to destroy Christianity. OOOPS! Sorry, Lord LOL! Don’t mean to sound horribly judgmental, as is she.
HEAVENLY FATHER: Blessed are we,that you have given us the Good Shepherd. Help the unbelievers to hear your voice, your quiet Holy Spirit. In shock and awe, allow them to experience a God-Thing…a situation….to make them realize that they are in your presence. In Jesus Precious Name. Amen
