GIRLFRIENDS,GIGGLES,GAFFAWS

The Book of Sirach (Catholic Bible) 6:14-17

Faithful friends are a are a sturdy shelter; whoever finds one finds a treasure. Faithful friends are beyond price,no amount can balance their worth. Faithful Friends are lifesaving medicine; those who fear God will find them. Those who fear the Lord enjoy stable friendship, for as they are, so will their neighbors be.

There are seven of us. Crazy Girlfriends who love to laugh, play, love, and support one another. We always make a date to get together, at least once a month.

The following are some of the activities that we’ve done as a group:

Christmas: Shopping trips, dinner and gift exchange at someone’s home each year.

January: We celebrate Diane and Nan’s Birthday.

Valentines Day: I’ve hosted a Tea. Scones, finger sandwiches, desserts, all sorts of tea(iced/hot). We always dress fancy with hats and jewelry. We also watch Downton Abby.

St Paddy’s Day Parties: The pictures are from our party at Barb’s house this year. Yes, we are a bunch of playful loonies and we love it!

Easter Brunch

May-THE ROYAL WEDDING: OMG!!!! We are creating our own hats and costumes. Even Mrs. Patmoor will create her own fascinator.

Wait until you see the pictures from that experience!

May 2019: We’re going to make hats for Derby Day.

We also celebrate Sandy’s Birthday in May.

June/July : We are going to hit some Tea Rooms, and do a few movies/ luncheons.

Aug./Sept: We have bridal showers.

Oct. We have THE WEDDING. Then after we’ll celebrate Barb and Mary Anne’s Birthday.

Nov. We celebrate Mary Lou’s Birthday and mine also.

Trust me, we don’t need a reason to celebrate. Barb, Nan, and their Hubbies travel together, as do Diane, Sandy and I.

In 2003, 8 of us went to Myrtle Beach for a week…. talk about wild and crazy!!!!

We bought long beach cover-ups with skinny bikini bodies on the front. Trust me, we turned a lot of heads.

LEARN TO LAUGH AT YOURSELF.

Recently, I wrote an article entitled, ”Smashing the Paint Can.” You guessed it. My rotund Rotunda fell off the ladder, my bum smashed the paint can, and the rest is history. LOLOL! The funny thing, I prayed for guardian angels to surround me as I was on the ladder. God answered my prayer, because I wasn’t injured.

After I checked all appendages, I lay on the floor laughing hysterically at myself. Why? Stupid Sue was high up on the ladder, painting a transome above the doorway. Unbeknownst to me, in this 1890’s farmhouse, the transomes fold down. So as it folded down, so did Sue.

Look at your glass half full. Celebrate life and friendships. Find reasons to party. Find reasons to laugh at yourself, daily.

HEAVENLY FATHER: Help all who read this be blessed with laughter. Even though they are experiencing grief and dark days, send them an angel to make them laugh.

In Jesus Precious Name. Amen.
