Psalm 119:66-68…
Teach me knowledge and good judgement. For I believe in your commands. Before I was afflicted, I went astray, but now I obey your word. You are good and what you do is good; teach me your decrees.
71-72 It was good for me to be afflicted, so that I might learn your decrees. The law of your mouth is more precious to me than silver or gold.
AFFLICTION IS HELL! We’ve all lived it. Trust me my friends in my 68 years, I have been through a lot. Three times within my life
(10 yrs., 28 yrs.,34yrs.) God could have taken me home, due to some serious health issues. However, He chose otherwise. There was a lot of work to be done.
When I have speaking engagements, here are my beginning statements:
*I am a Catholic.
*I am a born again Christian.
*I am non-denominational.
*I was blessed to have a mother and grandmother who taught me that my Jesus has no denomination.
*MY STORY: GOD TOOK ME APART,,,,,AND PUT ME BACK TOGETHER THE WAY HE WANTED ME TO BE…..FOR HIS GLORY….AND MY GOOD.
* If you told me 20 years ago, that I’d be an author/blogger/speaker ….my answer would be, ”Not in this lifetime!”
God has a tremendous sense of humor at times because He often commands you to do the impossible….AND WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT LIVES WITHIN YOU, the only answer can be is, ”Yes Sir!” It’s impossible to be pleased with His will for your life….because sometimes, it’s extremely painful both physically and mentally. It’s not our fault the genetics that with which we are dealt. However, it becomes our fault when we choose not to grow despite our deficiencies.
My parents were raised in the depression era. Neither of them went to college. However, they both pushed us to a higher degree of education.
Raised by a stay at home mom and THE JUNE CLEAVER MENTALITY, that’s what I figured would be my future after I had children.
BY 3RD Grade the following realization came upon me: I was a leader. I was smart. I was a people person, and I loved making a difference.
However, I didn’t have the guidance from my parents, through no fault of their own, to become.
MAN OH MAN! DID GOD HAVE A DIFFERENT PLAN?
The following was the line-up after I married:
· Art Teacher for 3 years-’72-’75 in the Jonathan Alder school District
· First son born in ‘75
· Became a stay at home mom. Lived in the country-few friends – and little community connection.
· Second son born in ’78, I went into hormonal depression.
Once I really began to seek God, my life began to change. Oh! I went to mass, and prayed, but the scriptures took my self-motivation to a higher level. God also provided the medical assistance that I needed to grow and heal.
The following was God’s plan:
*’81 -87 I was the art teacher at Little School in the Prairie Preschool.
*87-88 I was a preschool and an art teacher.
*88-89 I became the Kindergarten Teacher. Hearing God’s direction in my spirit, I went back to school to get recertified in art and k-8.
*89-90 I returned to my Art Teaching job.
*90 -2014 I taught Kindergarten.
*98 God began to take me on an unbelievable spiritual journey. Read my spotlight stories-“Why Sue Blogs.”
*99-2006 I became a summer instructor for The Communicate Institute.
*2014-I retired and began to blog Jan 9,2017.
*2018-I reunite with my Sweet Sandy Sanders that I met 37 years ago at Little School.
AND NOW….Here we are writing a daily devotional along with spotlight writers.
WHERE THIS TAKES US…ONLY GOD KNOWS.
If I had not gone through the illness, I wouldn’t be the person that I am today. I’m very self-motivated. Once I realize a new direction that God wishes to take me…watch out cause here I come!
We don’t understand the mysteries of God. However, It is our faith that carries us.
Sandy and I both have stories to tell of defeat, rising out of the darkness, and aspiring to greatness. God has a plan for us to touch many lives.
Seek, listen, and He will guide you to your highest peak!
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me enough to push me to aspire to greatness. This I say with all humility for it is not about me. I am following your will. Thank You for the Greatest Sacrifice..Your Son; so that we may live eternally with You. In Jesus Holy Name I pray.
