For God  so loved the world He gave his only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Those words strike an amazing chord deep down within my being. This week, the world lost an amazing human being. A man who  humbled himself and served the Lord in towns, villages, and countries around the world. A man who counseled presidents and heads of state. A man who was also so human, that when offered anything at all before doing a t.v. scene, he asked for a hamburger!

This individual left his home and family and traveled the world to share the gospel of Jesus to men and women of all faiths, ethnicity, and social background. He gave of himself and asked others to repent and be born again.

The man I speak of is, of course, Billy Graham. He has been revered and remembered.  People have spoken so highly of him in places both near and far and I believe this should be done. Yet, there was another man who did the same thing many years ago.

This man left home and traveled all over, speaking, sharing, and teaching. He performed miracles and sent leaders quaking to their homes because he did. He outbid and out maneuvered many ‘companies’ and had world leaders seeking to put him to death. Imprisonment and the death penalty is what finally stopped him from spreading more of his ‘blasphemy’ as some would describe it. He was not always loved by the people and he was often looked upon with suspicion. He spread a message of love and forgiveness and his thanks was the death penalty.

Of course, I am speaking about Jesus. A man,  the man, the exact one Billy Graham preached about, and yet the people’s response is so different. Hatred, suspicion, and disbelief were the people’s reaction many times.

What will your response be when you are asked about Billy Graham? What is your response when asked about Jesus? Do you know Jesus ? Have you invited him into your heart, into your life and your family?

Billy Graham was an awesome evangelist; Jesus is tbe outstanding savior! One dedicated his life to service, the other gave His life for all mankind!

When the roll call is given up in Heaven, I want to hear my name and I am answering with a resounding YES! Will you join me in saying ‘Yes’?

Dear Lord,  thank you for the dedication of Billy Graham, but more important is the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ for all of us! May each person reading these words find themselves embraced by the love of God and the peace of knowing Christ personally. In Jesus name,  amen.

In Him, now and forever;
