Meditate upon……

I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.
Philippians 4:11

Meditate- to contemplate, to think deeply about and meditate on his law day and night

So… complete contentment. That is what happens when we become Christians, right? Wrong!!!! We still have conflict-sometimes we have more because Satan loves to throw things at us to cause us to be discontent. Plus, we have anger issues, moral issues, and so on and so on!!!! Why you ask? Because we are human!!!! God doesn’t promise us an easy life when we accept Christ, instead He says we will face some dark days and trying times; but he also gives us the privilege to sit in His presence and to meditate on His word! Meditate, pray, to think on and about the father. We have the privilege to do that! We can open our Bibles and read His promises to us, His people, and know that what He promises He plans to do!!!!

I have heard people use the phrase, “Why me, Lord?!” I want to put another thought out there, “Why not you?!” Just because you have accepted Christ doesn’t mean you are immediately perfect! Stop and think about all of the things in the world that go through fire to be made beautiful. I watched a blacksmith take an ugly, hunk of something, heat it in a very hot fire until it glowed, and then he took a tool and hammered it into a beautiful shape. I compare that to my life. God keeps putting me through fires and heating me up so He can hammer out imperfections and make me into something beautiful!!! I wonder what He will decide I will be when He is all done? Hmmm, interesting thought isn’t it? Until I find the answer, I will continue to turn to Him, the maker and creator, and meditate upon His word. I will continue to seek Him out and do His will, not my own.

Heavenly Father, continue to make me and mold me into the person You would have me be. Remind me, Lord, it’s not my will, but Yours! Amen

In Him, now and forever;
