A Typical Day On The Farm

Thanksgiving was a beautiful sunny day with the temperature in the mid-40’s. My sister and her clan were coming, and all of our boys were home, as well.

My day started with Gramma up by 6:30 a.m. I had to get ready the feast that had been prepared the day before.

Since I am the chief cook and bottle washer, I need a few days to get things in order.

Grampa runs the farm, but is great at helping me clean before and after. He loves fall plowing. Therefore, he was working across the road before sunup.

As #1 son arrived with the twin grandsons, he drove back the lane, then immediately across the rd. to Grampa. My prediction was that the little ones were going to ride the tractor.

OOPS! There was a cow out! Son #2 had gotten a text to come out and help. Better the boys(like the old days) then Gramma.

There’s no greater joy than when the following occurs: The4 yr. old twins jump off their gator with their arms open yelling, ”Gramma!”

The rest of the day was filled with love, laughter, story-telling and lots of food.

As the twins were departing my son said to the comical Zack, “Do your imitation of Gramma,”

Zack in his girlie voice starts singing, “Give me kisses! Give me Kisses! I love purple!” We were all in hysterics, to say the least.

Yep, I call them, “My Sugar Bears.” That comes from being a K Teacher for 30 years.

I hope that you all had a great Thanksgiving.

I hope that you all had a blessing before your meal. I challenge all of you to begin a gratitude journal this year. It will change your life!
