Ok Millenials… this one comes from Granny’s wisdom and life experience. If you were a kid in the 50’s and 60’s, the world came alive when Color TV was introduced around 1960. Bonanza began in color.
The NBC Peacock made the best of it. As did my favorite creator of all time….Walt Disney. If you’re my age, you can still sing the song: The world is a wonderland of color…wonderful…wonderful…color! Then Tinkerbelle would do her magic all over the screen.
I knew that I was to be a creator from the time I was a child. I won an art contest and a writing contest in high school. I was good at it, and I realized that it was a gift I needed to nurture.
IT’S FALL! MY FAVORITE SEASON!
The weather changes. The crisp cool air brightens the spirit. As colors of orange, red, yellow, and green erupt against the azure sky, my mood goes into joyous overdrive.
As an artist, color effects me tremendously. It’s obvious that I go into hibernation during the winter months. I love the rebirth of spring. However, fall has my number one vote.
There’s so many exciting things that the Fall invites. School resumes, football season, and the holidays are coming. Yes, I am a pumpkin, gourd, colored leaves freak! My baking, cinnamon, pumpkin apple and spiced caramel thing goes wacky,
There’s nothing I love more than the aroma of pumpkin candles and an apple dumpling baking. The air is filled with a spiced effervescence, that elicits a warm, cozy, atmosphere.
Football Season is a big deal in my house, since I have two sons that are head football coaches. Every Friday, I now have the pleasure of having Mr. Moo cow with me at game time. All three boys took that farm work ethic and ran with it. They all have had amazing playing, coaching, and teaching careers.
However, this fall has taken on somewhat of a different atmosphere. Let’s think about how we can help those, whose lives have been turned upside down. Harvey and Irma have upset too many lives . Yet at the same time, these disasters have reignited the Christian Spirit in Americans that has been lacking.
As Autumn paints beautiful pictures for so many of us, let us paint the lives of those in need. Help Americans rebuild their lives. Afterall, this is the season for giving.
“Autumn paints color on our lives. Let us create a new canvas by giving color to the lives of others.”
