Book of Sirach(Catholic Bible)6:2-4
Do not fall into the grip of your passion, lest like fire it consume your strength. It will eat your leaves and destroy your fruits, and you will be left a dry tree. For fierce passion destroys its owner, and makes him the sport of his enemies.
Trees are a huge symbol in my life. To me they represent the following: life, strength, courage, becoming, and a living creature that produces much fruit.
All living creatures need sustenance: food, water, light, rest, and nurturing. The thought of a Dry Tree is pitiful, because it still has a chance to produce fruit. However, nutrients must have been withheld, in order for the tree to symbolize a picture of death.
As we transform our thinking, by digesting The Word, nutrients are added to our brain. Truth, morality, and wisdom are poured into our spirits.
We all know about the negative effect, that the liberal media has projected upon our culture.
In the 50’s and early 60’s,good girls didn’t. By the 70’s, the love child/drug cult took over. Now, living together before marriage, is the norm. We all know someone who died of a drug overdose.
What’s the challenge here? Well, once God and prayer were taken out of the schools, our Christian Culture began to fail. Liberalism took over and many became ”Lovers of Self.”
God usually has His ways of bringing people together. WWII did exactly that. We have Hurricane Harvey and Irma on its way. Do you think He’s trying to tell us something?
Take a survey of your life. What you spend, what your read, watch on TV etc.,the choices you make.
Make sure your nurturing your tree. It can become quite fruitful when you make Godly choices.
Love,
Granny
