I am five years old in my heart. No matter my age, I plan to keep it that way. -Sue Cutler

My dear friend Nan and I were both teachers of young children. I taught Kindergarten for 30 years. Plus seven years of preschool. She was a speech therapist and taught special needs preschool for 37 years as well.

We have written 14 children’s books. Two are self- published. We are trying to get recognized in order to get an audience, and a publisher that will pick us up.

When we are in our creative, rhyming mode….WATCH OUT! Our five, year, old brains take over. We laugh so heard that we need to keep a box of tissues on hand.

As teachers, we were very structured; however, we made sure that a lot of laughter was part of our daily regimen.

One of my goals as an educator was to give my students a love for learning. Everyday after we said The Pledge of Allegiance, we would say our Kindergarten Pledge. “I am the best, just as good as the rest. I am special, and Mrs. Cutler loves me.

It was a necessary boost to give those kids self-worth.

As grandparents both of us, and our spouses, are over the top with education and playfulness.

If anyone told me that my Mr. Moo Cow would be as zany and crazy as he is with our twin grandsons…I’d never believe it!

The following are things that we do with grandsons:

*Gramma brings her Big Magic Basket. We read, draw, paint, and work with Preschool/Kindergarten Curriculum.

*Grampa tells stories, wrestles, does blocks, toys, and plugs in their mini-gator that they drive around the farm. He also helps with things in the Magic Basket.

*Being with those little ones brings us so much love and joy!

*And Yes! We play with them like we are five year olds!

AND WE NEVER PLAN TO CHANGE!

May God keep your heart child-like, in spite of the struggles of this world.

Love,

Granny

You are never too old to be child like. Laughter is the best medicine. It releases endorphins in the brain that creates happiness.
